Brisket
Ok. So you are going to take this brisket out of the paper and dry that sucker off. Dust it liberally with paprika, garlic, salt and pepper and massage the spices in. Rub that meat like a tired bitch. Your hands should be a little red when you are done and the meat should feel soft and appear covered in spices.
Put the brisket into the crock pot and cover it with 2 cans of beer. Cheap beer works fine, bit if you use craft beer just know that the sweetness or the hoppiness will come through. I use good ol’ Bud Lite. Dust the beer with the same spices that you just used and add a teensy dash of cayenne.
Cover and cook for at least 4 hours. Maybe longer. You will know the beef is done when it it shreds with a fork.
Serve with anything you like, but Texas Toast is one of my favourites. Its simple, just take you home made bread, cover it it in butter and garlic powder. Then toast in a 400 degree oven until the edges of the bread are toasty and brown. You’ll know it when you see it.
